Junior Miss is a thrilling new presence on the indie rock scene, blending alternative rock with elements of post-grunge, art rock and post-grunge. Based in Chicago, IL (USA), the band is composed of Ian Rottner (guitar), Tommy Sagins (drums), Alvin Santner (guitar), Matt Storey (bass, vocals) and Katie Wheeler (vocals, guitar). While three of the band members have strong backgrounds in jazz, the band cites artists such as Incubus, Suicide Machines, Primus and Paramore as influences to their writing. Their music intertwines indie rock and lightweight hardcore with soothing, heartfelt melodies, introspective lyrics and clever meter to create a punchy, yet smooth sound.

The band was formed in fall of 2023 when Wheeler joined thanks to a Facebook post. The group composed of Rottner, Sagins, Santer and Storey had been playing together previously under a different band name, but rebranded once Wheeler was brought on board. Wasting no time, the five got to writing immediately with Wheeler adding vocal melodies and lyrics to existing instrumental music. Now with a fresh set of expressive originals under their belt, the band is gearing up for their first official release promising listeners an authentic perspective and an undeniable urge to headbang.
